Internship vs. Co-op: What's the Difference?
Confused about the terminology? We break down the key differences and which one is right for you.

While often used interchangeably, internships and co-ops are distinct educational experiences.

Internships

Usually short-term (summer or one semester), often part-time or full-time. They are a great way to "taste test" a company or role.

Co-ops (Cooperative Education)

Usually longer-term (multi-semester), almost always full-time. You essentially leave school to work as a full-time employee for 6+ months. This offers a much deeper dive into professional life and often leads to higher offer rates post-graduation.

Which is right for you? It depends on your learning style and how quickly you want to graduate versus how much experience you want to bank.
